The Player Development Centre

Steyning Town Community Football Club is proud to launch our Player Development Centre which will be held every weekday after school on our 3G pitch at The Shooting Field.

The sessions, which are aimed at boys & girls aged 3 to 15 years, will be headed by our first team manager Kev Green and his team of qualified coaches. Kev has worked in football for over 25 years which includes time in the professional side of the game both as a coach and a scout. Having worked in Spain coaching for 6 years, Kev has adopted a lot of the technical aspects that he learnt out there. This philosophy really looks at the player as an individual and what’s needed to help them improve. Mastering the ball is the cornerstone to this philosophy and players will be taught a number of different skills that will help them develop as a player and be comfortable on the ball in any situation.

We will also look at developing a “high performance mindset” for the players with specific practices designed by our first team performance coach Tony Dain. The psychological part of the game is something that is massively overlooked in grass roots football but with Tony’s experience we can help young players develop both their football personality and their confidence on the pitch.
We will have specific nights where we run courses that focus on this that will be known as “The High Performance Mentality Academy.

2023 Christmas Foundation Football Camp

Our Christmas holiday camps are perfect for working parents, and those youngsters who just can’t get enough football fun.

The Player Development Centres qualified coaching staff provide a fun and safe environment designed to help each individual improve their technique while having fun with their class mates.

Individual ball work, team activities and small sided matches make up each session.

Numbers are limited and as  such, booking will be on a first come first serve basis.
