Sunday 27th September I 3:30pm KO I LSERWFL
It’s the first away league fixture for the Barrownesses on Sunday, as they travel to Kent to face Sevenoaks Town at The Bourne Stadium.
In the 2024-2025 season, Sevenoaks won the South East Counties Premier Division to gain promotion into the London & South East Regional League. Their first season in tier 6 was a challenging one finishing in 10th place.
Steyning travelled up to Greatness Park last October, 2 Goals from Brooke Pallant and a goal from Holly Clarke went towards the tally as the Barrownesses won 5-3, taking home all 3 points.
Back in March we saw the return leg as Steyning hosted Sevenoaks. This year’s Vice-Captain Lauren Tyler scored a brace as the Barrownesses came away with a 4-2 victory.
So far this season Sevenoaks have played 3 league games. They suffered 3-1 defeats to both Dorking Wanderers B & Montpelier Villa. However, last Sunday picked up their first 3 points of the season with a 4-1 win over Hastings United.
Steyning has had a mixed start to the season. 5 competitive games played, 1 win, 1 draw and 3 losses. Although the results have been mixed, performances are improving week by week as the new squad gels together. The squad are developing a real identity and a clear understanding of how the coaching team want them to play.
Only an own goal separated them and an established Ashmount Leigh side last week.
Following that very good performance, the squad will want to get back out on the pitch and give everything to bring the 3 points home.
