The Steve Seymour Award – William!

This year’s winner of the Steve Seymour award is William from the under 8’s.

He’s a lad who understands he may not be the best player in the team and isn’t the least bit bothered by the scoreline.

But he’ll come to training always with a smile on his face and before getting involved with the others he will come to say hello to the coaches first and ask what we’re doing.

He just seems happy to be involved in any way and loves to be part of a team with his friends.

William is always positive, always willing to try his best in any position and always finds fun in everything.

He’s given us one of our best moments of the season and definitely the biggest cheer when he scored his one and only goal in a match.

It wasn’t until the second half of the season but when he smashed it in, and he did smash it in! the cheer from the crowd was so loud he looked slightly shocked and just jogged back to the half way line as if he had never imagined or dreamed it could happen.

That same match he had arrived with cakes for everyone so I thanked him very much and asked if it was his birthday but it wasn’t apparently he had just wanted to bring them for the team.

Without fail after every training session and match (not before he’s picked up more cones than anyone else to help tidy up) He will always go to every coach with a hand shake, a fist bump or a high five and say thank you.

As a club it is our absolute please to announce William as our winner.
