The Football Clubs Boys/Mixed U7-U16s Teams play matches in the Horsham & District Youth Football League.
We are now looking for a person to take on the important Club Role of HDYFL Youth Secretary (Horsham & District Youth), for Season 2024/25 and 25/26. This is currently a Non-Committee Role.
Without this role being filled, we cannot enter our teams into HDYFL. This position is the interface between our Club & Coaches and the League.
As part of the Role, you will:
Forward queries from the league about fixtures and their report
change to kick-off times
Manage fixture clashes and rearranged fixtures
Administer player transfers
Publish weekly fixtures scheduled for the next Saturday on the 3G to avoid double-booking.
Communicate via the Club Managers WhatsApp Group or Managers Emails.
The season runs from September to April with the league releasing its fixtures in early September, November and January. You will need to review the fixtures for U13 to U16 to check for fixture conflicts on the 3G and inform the league of suggested KO times and dates. This is a regular issue.
In May before new season starts, you will send an annual return, signed by the Chairman, to the league to confirm which teams the club intends to enter in the next season. Team details are provided by age group leaders.
When player registration opens (July), there are sometimes queries with regard to playing ages to deal with but the bulk of the player registration is completed by the Club Registration Secretary and other Committee Members. In late June/July there is the Leagues AGM to attend and report back to the club. This is a weeknight evening at Horsham FC.
Some Skills that are required include communication, use of spreadsheets, organisation, and a little bit of time each week. By taking this role on you will provide a massive assistance to the club. You will get to know many people in the area and you will become an important member of the admin team that helps ensure over 300 local young people are playing the beautiful game and learning about life through team sports. It’s important! Written down it may appear daunting but in reality is not much more than a couple of hours a week.
There will be a full handover from the Outgoing HDYFL Secretary – You will have the full support of the Clubs Youth & Junior Liaison Officers, and the rest of Committee. Ideally the candidate would be a Parent/Carer of a player in one of our younger age groups, who could continue this role for several seasons. If this is you or somebody you know, and you can take on this important role, then please get in contact with:
